Back with a blast, it's the Big Dada Podcast, irregular and precious as the April sunshine. With brand new music from Roots Manuva, Wiley, Speech Debelle, Dobie and the brilliant Bang On!, it's not the cruelest month after all. The legend that is Sticky makes a guest appearance in our regular feature, the name of which has never been clear but which involves choosing a track that was a formative influence. Needless to say, he's picked a good 'un. All of this and more is effortlessly weaved into one seamless whole by the one and only A La Fu. He even finds a chance to get all Aberdonian on your derriere. Get it quick. Download and tracklisting here. The second edition of Podcasa Ghostmix Series compiled by enormous President Bongo of Gus Gus and traditionally mixed by Ghost. Download and tracklisting here. Spring rolls... The annual clean up of computers and hard drives often reveal forgotten memories and sometimes little gems such as these. It's hard to believe that this was nearly 12 years ago, back when Ninja Tune hosted their monthly night at one of my favourite venues in the smoke, Cargo. This was a Big Dada takeover. Good times. The Ghost Mix is a new series of compilations put together every month by some of the favorite artists chosen from my good friends in Barcelona CASA and mixed by another one of their favorite artists a.k.a. The Ghost (as his name is never revealed). An interesting concept indeed. A word from Optimo: "Some music from all over the place that we love, cunningly mixed by a mystery technician.." Tracklisting and audio here. Somehow, amongst the desperate scramble to release Wiley albums, attend (or avoid) Xmas parties and refurbish Big Dada Towers, we've managed to stuff a Christmas stocking of a podcast until its very seams are stretching. New music from Speech Debelle, Roots Manuva, Bang On! Dobie and of course, Wiley himself, who's even contributed a Christmas song he made 'specially. Dobie talks about a song that influenced him and it's all effortlessly held together by our very own Bing Crosby - the velvet voiced A La Fu. Pour yourself a brandy, sit back and enjoy. Happy holidays! Download here My friend Jonnie Common has released a full length remix album.
